It was just announced that on January 2, Ronda Rousey will defend her UFC women’s bantamweight title against Holly Holm at UFC 195 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This will be exciting as Rousey has been the most dominant fighter in the UFC’s womens’ ranks.
Rousey has a -1400 betting line to win this bout. Odds on when she could win and how she could win will be released as the date for the bout comes closer. This is noteworthy as many of Rousey’s most recent fights have not even lasted for more than a minute.
Meanwhile, Holly Holm only has a +750 UFC gambling line to win this bout. However, she will be one of the more interesting fighters that Rousey has faced.
Holm is a former professional boxer who had a 33-2-3 record with nine knockouts in her career. She ended her boxing career in 2013 to focus on her MMA career. She has been competing in the MMA circuit since 2011 and has won all nine of her bouts with six of them coming by knockout.
Holm has spent her last two bouts at the UFC rank. She signed a contract to get into the UFC for five fights last year. Her most recent bout was in July when she won by a unanimous decision against Marion Reneau.
She focuses particularly on boxing and kickboxing as her main fighting forms. Her extensive experience in the boxing field has helped her to become one of the strongest figures in the MMA circuit.
The biggest question at this point is if Holly Holm will go on for more than a round, let alone a minute, against Ronda Rousey. Of course, no matter who Rousey fights, this will certainly be an interesting fight to check out. Whether or not Holly Holm will be the first one to pull off a victory is unclear but it will certainly be an exciting fight that will certainly be big out in Las Vegas.
