An action packed evening of UFC119 action will take place on September 25 from Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN.

Sports-Gambling opened with Frank Mir as a -220 favorite over Mirko Filipovic, who opened as a +180 dog.

Mir enters UFC 119 betting action with a record of 13 wins and 5 losses.  He has lost 2 out of his last 3 bouts including his last fight on March 27 in UFC 111 against Shane Carwin in a knockout at the 3:48 mark of the first round.

Mir was a past heavyweight champion as he beat Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in December 2008 for the interim title which he lost in his next bout against Brock Lesnar in July of 2009 by submission.  The loss to Carwin was for the interim heavyweight title.

Of Mir’s 13 wins 2 were by knockout, 8 by submission, 2 by decision, and 1 by disqualification.  All 5 of his losses were by knockout.

Filipovic has a career record of 27-7 and has won 4 out of his last 5 fights including 2 straight.  He is coming off a win against Pat Barry on June 12 at UFC 115 in which he scored a submission at the 4:30 mark of the 3rd round.

Of his 27 wins, 21 have been by knockout, 4 by submission, and 3 by decision.  Of his 7 losses 2 have been by knockout, 2 by submission, and 3 by decision.

Mir has had an interesting life, let alone career, as he enters action with the UFC 119 lines looking to get back into championship contention.  He has been through 2 motorcycle accidents along with the ups and downs of mixed martial arts.

“I guess like anything else, there are high and lows,” said Mir.  “You keep pushing no matter how discouraging it can be.”

Mir is also trying to close in on a UFC gambling title shot.  The closest he has come was at UFC 70 in April of 2007 when he was knocked out by Gabriel Gonzaga.
