UFC 121 betting odds opened with Lesnar as a -150 favorite to defend his heavyweight title while Velasquez opened as a +120 dog with the UFC odds.

The fight is scheduled for a starting time of 11:59 PM on Saturday night from the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.

Brock Lesnar is the defending heavyweight champion of UFC with a record of 5 wins and 1 loss.  He won the heavyweight championship in November of 2008 at UFC 91 when he defeated Randy Couture by technical knockout in the 2nd round at the 3:07 mark.

He has successfully defended his heavyweight title on two occasions.  On July 11, 2009 at UFC 100 Lesnar defeated Frank Mir by technical knockout at the 1:48 mark of the 2nd round.  On July 3 of this year Lesnar defeated Shane Carwin by submission at the 2:19 mark of the 2nd round.

Lesnar is 6-3 and 265 pounds yet has incredible athleticism for such a big man.  Lesnar has superb wrestling ability and a diverse background that made him an instant UFC betting success.

Cain Velasquez has a perfect record of 8-0 entering this bout with Lesnar.  Velasquez is coming off a February 21 knockout win over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 110 in the 1st round at the 2:20 mark.

Prior to that Velasquez scored a technical knockout win over Ben Rothwell at UFC 104 in October of 2009 at the 58 second mark of the 2nd round.  At UFC 99 in June of 2009 Velasquez scored a unanimous decision win over Cheick Kongo.

Velasquez stands at 6-1 and 240 pounds and is well regarded for his versatility and overall well rounded mixed martial arts portfolio.

Lesnar is becoming a more skilled strategist and will not rely so much on total brute force for this UFC 121 online betting matchup.  His head coach is former NCAA wrestling champion Marty Morgan.  Lesnar trains out of Minnesota and hails from Webster, South Dakota.

With Velasquez’s versatility, Lesnar will definitely need the combination of his brute strength and size along with well thought out strategy in order to beat the UFC 121 betting odds.
