Sportsbook action for UFC 98 will be headlined by the Light Heavyweight championship bout of Rashad Evans and Lyoto Machida atop the main sportsbook gambling card. Also on the sportsbook main card will be the welterweight bout between Matt Hughes and Matt Serra.
A middleweight bout between Yushin Okami and Dan Miller is also on the sportsbook gambling main card. The other top UFC fighting bout on the main card will be lightweights Sean Sherk vs. Frank Edgar. Evans is one of the true elites in ultimate fighting as he has 13 wins in 14 matches with the lone exception being a draw.
His last sportsbook appearance was December 27, 2008 when he scored a TKO win over Forrest Griffin at UFC 92 at the 2:46 mark of the third round. The sportsbook victory over Griffin earned him the light heavyweight title. Machida has plenty of sportsbook credentials of his own with a career mark of 14 wins in 14 bouts.
The Brazilian’s last sportsbook appearance was on January 31, 2009 as he knocked out Thiago Silva at the 4:59 mark of the first round at UFC 94. Hughes is an experienced veteran that has been on the sportsbook board many times. He has a career record of 42 wins and 7 losses but has lost three out of his last four bouts.
His last bout was a TKO defeat against Thiago Alves at the 1:02 mark of the second round on June 7 of last year. He considered retirement but decided that he wanted one more sportsbook fight, which will be against Serra.
Serra has 9 wins and 5 losses in his career and has won four of his last six bouts, although his latest outing was a loss to Georges St. Pierre in a TKO at the 4:45 mark of the second round on April 19, 2008.
Okami is 23-4 lifetime and has won 3 straight and 9 out of his last 10. Miller has won 11 out of his 12 bouts. Sherk is 33-3 lifetime while Edgar is 9-1.
