Sports Betting Saturday - Game 1 Penguins vs. Wings at Sports Gambling

Sports betting will turn its attention to the National Hockey League’s online sports betting climax with the Stanley Cup Finals.

Sports betting will see a repeat of last year’s online sports betting series for the Cup between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Detroit Red Wings.  The Pittsburgh Penguins have picked up sports betting momentum as the playoffs have gone on.

They defeated the Philadelphia Flyers in 5 games to start their online sports betting quest for the Cup.  They next defeated the Washington Capitals in a thrilling 7 game sports betting series in which they at one time trailed 0-2 in games.

In the eastern conference finals the Penguins brought out the broom and swept the Carolina Hurricanes in 4 games.  The Detroit Red Wings also have a lot of sports betting momentum entering this series.  They first swept the Columbus Blue Jackets in the opening sports betting round of the NHL playoffs.

In the second round they were extended to 7 games by the Anaheim Ducks but escaped with a 4-3 game and series sports betting win.  In the western conference finals the Red Wings had less trouble than expected from the Chicago Blackhawks and beat them in 5 games.

Last year in the sports betting series between these two teams the Red Wings defeated the Penguins in 6 games to capture the Cup.  So far Detroit has been one of the most balanced teams in all of sports betting as they rank 2nd on both offense and defense in the NHL playoffs.

The Wings are averaging 3.69 goals per game while allowing only 2.13 goals per game.  Pittsburgh has the top ranked offense in the NHL playoffs with an average of 3.82 goals per game while their defense ranks 8th in the NHL playoffs with an average of 2.76 goals per game allowed.

The teams met twice this season.  On November 11 the Penguins beat the Red Wings 7-6 in overtime at Detroit.  On February 8 the Red Wings shut out the Penguins 3-0 at Pittsburgh.
