Bet on Sports Money Lines at Sports Gambling

Bet on sports money lines are an option that gamblers have for baseball, hockey and sometimes in sports betting football and basketball.

The main difference between a bet on sports money line and a pointspread is that there are no points involved with the money line.  If your team wins as you bet on sports, you collect. Bet on sports money lines are the most common in baseball.  Let’s look at a typical example sports betting money line from Major League Baseball: New York Yankees -160 Chicago White Sox   +140.

In this situation if you liked the Yankees you would risk $160 for every $100 you wanted to win on N.Y. or the 16/10 sports betting equivalent.  If you liked Chicago you would risk $100 but win $140 if the Sox won.  You could also see a difference in that vigorish return where it might just be 10 cents.  This bet on sports money line example is exactly the same as the lines you see in hockey betting.

You also have bet on sports money lines to consider in the NFL, college football, NBA and college basketball.  Here is a bet on sports money line example that you might see when looking at the NBA sports betting money line at a sportsbook: New York +180
New Jersey -220. If you liked the Nets you would be risking $220 for every $100 you wanted to win.

If you liked the Knicks you would get back $180 for every $100 wagered if New York won.  You are just betting on a team to win the game, no bet on sports pointspread is involved.  Money lines will usually be available in NFL, college football, NBA and college basketball when the pointspread is less than ten points.

You also have bet on sports money lines in other sports like NASCAR, golf, tennis and soccer.  They are usually matchup oriented and look just like the previous NBA example. These are the basics for bet on sports money lines and some things you will likely see.  The good news with a sports betting money line is that you only have to win the game.  It is why some bet on sports players prefer the money line over the pointspread.
