Sports Gambling - Netherlands Faces Tough Final

Sports gambling handicappers and odds makers had quickly installed Spain as one of the world Cup betting favorites to win the tournament while the Netherlands was an afterthought.

Sports gambling excitement and anticipation is growing rapidly for the Final Championship matchup between Span and the Netherlands in a World Cup betting contrast of teams.

The Netherlands was a respected online sports gambling commodity heading into the tournament but was never seriously considered to be a favorite to make the Final until their stunning 2-1 upset for the ages over Brazil which put them in the semifinal round against Uruguay in which the Dutch prevailed with a 3-2 win.

The Netherlands will now take to the pitch for Sunday’s World Cup Final sports gambling matchup with Spain as a dangerous underdog that will be playing in the championship game for the first time since 1978.

“It’s amazing what we accomplished after 32 years” said coach Bert van Marwijk.  “We survived.”

The Netherlands lost the World Cup football betting final in both 1974 and 1978 with talented and legendary teams that are revered to this very day.  It has made it difficult for the Dutch program to progress into a new era in which they are now much more team and system oriented.

Dutch forward Robin van Persie commented on the contrasts between yesterday and today.

“It is a bit difficult because you have to fight against the generation of 1974 and 1978,” said Van Persie.  “They were unbelievable.  They are legends.”

“But somehow we have a chance to do it.  If we win it for the first time it will be unbelievable because basically it means that we have done better than them.”

Van Marwijk has been careful to not get too giddy as of yet as he realizes that his team will face a supreme sports book gambling test against a loaded team from Spain that has plenty of weapons and a ferocious attack.

“We are not there yet and there is one more match to look forward too,” said the Netherlands coach.

“Of course I am very very happy and proud that such a small country is in the World Cup Final, it is hard to understand,” Van Marwijk added.

Wesley Sneijder will lead the Netherlands offensive attack into Sunday’s championship match with the World Cup betting odds as leads the team with 5 goals while goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has 2 shutouts.
