Sports Gambling - Serena Williams tops Women's Tennis List

Sports gambling anticipation continues to grow for the 2010 Sony Ericsson WTA Tour with a fabulous lineup of events and players.

Sports gambling handicappers always start with a good hard look at the Williams sisters for online sports gambling wagers on women’s tennis and it’s understandable as to why that is. Serena Williams is the top ranked women’s tennis pro on the sports gambling charts and will be the prohibitive favorite in nearly all of her matches this year.

Williams has a record so far in 2010 of 10 wins and 1 loss in singles action with 1 title and a total of $1,984,467 in prize money.  Williams’ sports gambling title this year was at the Australian Open as she defeated Justine Henin 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.  She had previously lost the final at Syndey to Elena Dementieva 6-3.

Venus Williams had a sports gambling rank of 5th in the world.  Along with her sister Serena she is the most recognizable name in women’s tennis posted on the board at any sports gambling site.

She has a record so far this year of 14-1 and has 2 singles titles with total prize money at $740,046.  She won at Dubai as she defeated Victoria Azarenka in the final 6-3 7-5.  That was followed with a win at Acapulco over Polona Hercog 2-6 6-2 6-3.

Caroline Wozniacki is currently ranked 2nd in the women’s tennis world rankings.  She has a sports gambling record of 9 wins and 4 losses so far for 2010 and total prize money of $455,998.

Dinara Safina is ranked 4th in the world rankings for women’s tennis so far for 2010 and has a sports gambling record of 5 wins and 5 losses with total prize money of $129,860.  She is respected and remains highly ranked due to her long term success and as the winner of the 2009 French Open.

The dominance of the Williams sisters is not expected to end any time soon and, in fact, Serena seems to be at the top of her career after a stellar 2009 performance.
