Sports Gambling Saturday on Lakers vs. Nuggets

Sports gambling this weekend will include one of the best matchups on the board in any sport as the Lakers and Nuggets meet in the NBA western conference finals.

Sports gambling handicappers have been surprised at how well the Nuggets have played while the Lakers have been an up and down online sports gambling commodity.  The Los Angeles Lakers came way to close in the mind of many sports gambling fans of being upset by the Houston Rockets in the second round of the playoffs.

The Rockets lost super star center Yao Ming early in the series due to injury and the online sports gambling conventional wisdom was that the Lakers would roll against the NBA betting odds.

Unfortunately for many sports gambling fans, the Lakers barely escaped the series as it went the full seven games before LA got their act together for a strong game 7 performance in which they won going away 89-70 as 13-point chalks.

After two rounds of sports gambling action, however, the Lakers were just 6-6 against the spread and offered no value and the potential for heavy overlays.

The Lakers are one of the most popular teams in all of sports gambling and this makes them one of the most expensive teams on the board, with a value that is often less than what is actually warranted as the odds makers have to “sweeten the deal” to attract action against LA.

The Lakers defense and heart has come into question during the sports gambling NBA post season.  LA ranked only 7th in the NBA for playoff defense. The offense is a well known sports gambling strength for the Lakers and it ranked 5th in the NBA for the playoffs.

As expected, Kobe Bryant has led the attack with an average of 27.4 points per game which ranked 4th in the NBA playoffs.  The Denver Nuggets were undefeated against the sports gambling board after the first two rounds of the playoffs.

Denver had the top ranked offense in the NBA for post season action but their defense ranked only 9th.  Carmelo Anthony averaged 27.0 points per game to lead the offense and rank 5th in the NBA post season for scoring.
