Sports Gambling - American League Money Moves

Sports gambling excitement has quickly taken hold for the 2010 Major League Baseball season as results are offering plenty of early insight.

Sports gambling fans see many of the expected teams at both the top and bottom of the standings with some revealing online sports gambling numbers in the American League. The New York Yankees were the overwhelming sports gambling favorite to repeat as World Series Champions for 2010 and were atop the American League East Division with the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays right on their heels.

The Boston Red Sox stumbled out of the gate and were a game below .500 while the hapless Baltimore Orioles were in dead last as always.

The Minnesota Twins were another sports gambling favorite to repeat as American League Central Division Champions as they play their inaugural season at new Target Field.  Minnesota was one of the top money winners on the board early on and only the Detroit Tigers had a winning record in the AL Central with the Twins.

The Oakland Athletics faced long shot prices with the MLB odds to make the post season but they won 8 out of their first 12 games to take the top spot in the American League West Division while the Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners hovered around the .500 mark.

The defending AL West Champion Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim got off to a poor start with 7 losses in their first 11 games.

The Blue Jays were the most profitable team on the sports gambling board in the American League based in large part to their being undervalued and with low public perception and esteem.  They were the most profitable underdog on the board.

The Athletics had a similar sports gambling value issue in that their hot start was way above what was expected from the casual gamblers betting on baseball.

Boston was a big sports gambling money loser because they are an overlay that attracts a lot of public money that can often translate into serious setbacks to the bankrolls of those who back the Red Sox on a loss.

The Yankees made their money as a road team where they get far better prices than at home where they were break even on the board.
