Online sports gambling saw Louisiana Tech head coach Derek Dooley depart for Tennessee and be replaced at Tech by Sonny Dykes for the 2010 sports gambling online season. Dykes is the son of online sports gambling coaching legend Spike Dykes of Texas Tech and was offensive coordinator at Arizona for the past three sports gambling online seasons.
Dykes is known as a guru of the spread offense but said that he will not immediately decide whether or not to impose that offensive system on the Bulldogs for the 2010 gambling sports season. Dykes instead said that he would change the offense to fit the players for the 2010 online sports gambling season.
“As a coach you always have this idea of what you want to be and sometimes it goes right along those lines and everything falls into place and all of a sudden you’re exactly what you want to be,” said Dykes about his outlook and plans for the 2010 online sports gambling season.
“But most of the time it doesn’t. What we have to do is evaluate what we can do. Figure out what we’re good at, figure out what kind of talent we have.” Dykes will enter his first major college head coaching job in the Western Athletic Conference which is known throughout online sports gambling as a league with explosive offensive teams.
Six WAC teams were in the top 50 for scoring in the 2009 online sports gambling season. Louisiana Tech ranked 46th in the online sports gambling charts for scoring in 2009. “I think this league has always been known as an offensive league and the teams are doing it different ways,” said Dykes.
“There are a lot of pretty balanced football teams in this league. The thing is, in college football today, you’ve got to be able to score to give yourself a chance to win.”
Dykes will inherit a team with experience and veteran leadership for the 2010 online sports gambling season. Ideally he will tweak the ground oriented style of Tech to better compliment the attack.
