Online sports gambling success for the Giants was due in large part to a pitching staff that was one of the most effective in all of sportsgambling. Starter Tim Lincecum was a major contributor to the Giants online sports gambling success as he finished with a record of 15-7 with a 2.48 earned run average.
The Giants finished second in sportsgambling for staff earned run average and it was imperative that they kept Lincecum in the gambling sports rotation. In the 2009 online sports gambling season Lincecum earned $650,000 but will now be making $23 million over the next two years.
Lincecum’s online sports gambling value is so obvious that his teammates nicknamed him “The Franchise.” Lincecum is the two time reigning Cy Young Award winner and keeping him happy and focused was an important part of the Giants preparations for the 2010 online sports gambling season.
Giants vice president of baseball operations Bobby Evans was pleased. “It’s a win-win for both sides,” said Evans. Both the Giants and Lincecum wanted to avoid a bitter arbitration fight before spring training. Lincecum was also concerned about how the team would react to his off-season arrest for marijuana.
The Giants look like one of the top National League contenders for the 2009 online sports gambling season. Pitching is the major reason for the high online sports gambling expectations for San Francisco this year.
In addition to Lincecum the Giants have one of the top relievers in all of online sports gambling with Brian Wilson, who had 38 saves last year with a 2.74 earned run average. Wilson also avoided arbitration with a new $4.4 million deal. Matt Cain is another ace starter in the Giants rotation.
Last year Cain had a record of 14-8 with a 2.89 earned run average. Veteran Barry Zito gives some veteran seasoning to the rotation. Last year he was 10-13 with a respectable 4.03 earned run average. If the Giants can increase their offensive production they will be difficult to stop.
