On Line Sports Gambling - Cardinals Looking to Reload and Repeat

On line sports gambling excitement is building for baseball handicappers at the promising sportsgambling prospects of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2010.

On line sports gambling fans were surprised and impressed with the Cardinals 2009 sportsgambling performance as surprise champions of the National League Central Division. St. Louis finished with an on line sports gambling record of 91-71 straight up and with just 66 games going over the sports gambling online total.

They were quickly swept in the on line sports gambling post season 3-0 by the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The big reason for the Cardinals surprising success in the 2009 on line sports gambling season was their pitching staff that finished with the 4th best earned run average in all of baseball and far better than anyone had anticipated.

The big on line sports gambling question and concern for 2010 will be whether or not the Cardinals can hold their board value as they will not be a surprise this year and much is, in fact, expected.  A potential distraction also looms for the 2010 on line sports gambling season as Mark McGuire is on hand to serve as hitting coach.

McGuire was a hero in 1998 when he set what was at the time a single season record for home runs at 70.  He has since been discredited, however, for admitting to taking performance enhancing drugs.

The Cardinals are likely to face their share of hostility on the road with his presence but he is very tight with manager Tony LaRussa and that is why he is back in Cardinal red.  One player that is not likely to need much of McGuire’s tutelage is first baseman Albert Pujols.

Last year Pujols had another monster season as he hit .327 with 47 home runs and 135 runs batted in.  It was the fifth time in the past seven seasons that Pujols hit at least 41 home runs and he now has 366 round trippers for his career with a .334 average.

Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright lead the starting staff with earned run averages well below 3.00 and Ryan Franklin was dominant out of the bullpen with 38 saves and a 1.92 ERA.  The Cardinals have the additional factor of confidence after last year and will be tough to beat.
