Smith Named 49ers Starting QB

Internet sports gambling speculation has been ripe with rumors about who would be the San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback for the 2010 season.

Internet sports gambling news from San Francisco indicates that Alex Smith will enter training camp as the online sports gambling starter for the 49ers. Smith has had a star crossed internet sports gambling career that began with considerable promise as the 49ers number one draft pick for the 2005 online sports gambling season.

Smith is coming off the best sports gambling season of his career in 2009 as he compiled an internet sports gambling quarterback rating of 81.5 based on a completion percentage of 60.5% and 2350 yards passing with an 18/12 touchdown to interception ratio.

Smith took over as the starting quarterback in the sixth game of the 2009 internet sports gambling season after backing up previous starter Shaun Hill.  The 49ers finished the 2009 internet sports gambling season with a record of 8-8 straight up and 9-4-3 against the spread.

San Francisco Head coach Mike Singletary initially hedged about who would be the starter but at the NFL Scouting Combine he confirmed that Smith was the number one man heading into the 2010 internet sports gambling season.  “I feel very good about saying that Alex Smith is our starter going into next season,” said Singletary.

With Kurt Warner having retired as quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals the NFC West Division race looks wide open for the 2010 internet sports gambling season.  The 49ers are expected to be one of the internet sports gambling favorites to win the NFC West as they have improved steadily with Singletary in charge.

Singletary has been urging caution, however, about being overconfident.  “It’s a big mistake for us - we can’t afford to look around at anyone and say, ‘This is our division.’  Entitlement is the quickest way out,” said the coach.

The 49ers had a good finish to the 2009 season as they went 3-1 straight up and 2-1-1 against the spread. They defeated Arizona during that stretch 24-9 as 4-point home dogs.
