Do you give credence to the early season play or do you look at past history to determine the online sports gambling future?
Sports gambling odds will favor some of the teams that did well in April while others will likely fall off. The Tampa Bay Rays have been the best team in baseball and they are not a fluke. The team is loaded with talent and they should be able to give the New York Yankees a battle all season.
The Rays had the best record in April while the Yankees, Twins, Cardinals and Padres were not far behind. You can pretty much guarantee that the Yankees, Twins and Cardinals are going to be successful all season but the Padres may drop off in MLB betting.
San Diego was forecast for last place in the National League West. While the Padres could be a surprise in online sports gambling it is unlikely they will challenge all season.
What about some of the players who have started strongly? Can you continue to back them in sports gambling odds? Washington Nationals pitcher Livan Hernandez was third in the league in ERA.
Can you count on him as the season progresses in sports gambling? It is unlikely that Hernandez is going to continue his success as his past numbers don’t indicate he is an All-Star pitcher.
A pitcher that could continue his early season success though is Minnesota’s Francisco Liriano. He has simply been fantastic so far this season in sports gambling for the Twins and it may not be a fluke. Four years ago he was the best pitcher for the Twins and that was when they had Johan Santana.
His arm gave out and he needed Tommy John surgery. Unlike Hernandez, who is over the hill, Liriano still has his best years ahead of him.
What about New York’s Mike Pelfrey? He was leading the league in ERA through April. While he may have some success vs. the sports gambling odds, a lot of his numbers are a fraud.
He was walking almost five batters per game and that will eventually get you into trouble. Pelfrey has had a great start but you may not want to get carried away backing him in sports gambling.
