Gambling in Sports - Hawks and Sharks Advance

Gambling in sports excitement continues to build for the NHL Western Conference Finals as Blackhawks and Sharks make for a great sportsgambling matchup.

Gambling in sports handicappers will have their pick of the top two seeds in the Western Conference and two teams that are outstanding sportsgambling commodities.

The number two seed Chicago Blackhawks are coming off six game wins in each of their first two hockey betting series against the Nashville Predators in the opening round and followed up with a victory over the Vancouver Canucks in the second round.

Chicago has been sloppy at times in the playoffs but has demonstrated the ability to clamp down and be able to turn it on to a higher level when necessary.

The Blackhawks have been the second biggest money maker on the online hockey betting board for this year’s playoffs.  They have been remarkably consistent and balanced as they rank third overall for scoring and fourth overall for goals against.

Center Jonathan Toews has been a big hero for the Blackhawks as he leads the team with 6 goals and a whopping 14 assists.  Right winger Patrick Kane has 7 goals and 8 assists.  Goaltender Antti Niemi has been up and down with a 2.57 goals against average.

The San Jose Sharks struggled for a six game win in the opening round of their playoff series with the Colorado Avalanche as they blew two games as heavy bet on hockey favorites which were painful and costly losses to gamblers backing them.

They then polished off the defending Western Conference Champion Detroit Red Wings in six games in the second round to advance to the final four.  As a result of being a consistent overlay the Sharks have been a big money loser on the board so far in the post season.

Defense has been the gambling in sports strength for San Jose as they rank second in the NHL Playoffs for goals against average.  The Sharks have also been a highly effective penalty killing team in the post season as they rank fourth in the NHL Playoffs for that category.

Goaltender Evgeni Nabokov has a 2.43 goals against average while center Joe Pavelski has let the Sharks in scoring with 9 goals and 6 assists.
