Gambling in Sports - NHL Sees Wild Wild West

Gambling in sports action has been phenomenal in the first round of the NHL Western Conference Playoffs as fans have had plenty of thrills.

Gambling in sports handicappers have also had to face the challenge of coming up with top on line sports gambling values as parity is at a premium in the West. It didn’t even take one night for the first major gambling in sports upset to take place in the Western Conference as the top seeded San Jose Sharks lost as $223 home chalks to the Colorado Avalanche 1-2.

San Jose was the top seed in the Western Conference last year and this was a scary reminder of just how thin the margin of error is in the NHL Playoffs.

The Vancouver Canucks nearly gave those gambling in sports another reminder about the dangers of making huge overlays as they needed overtime to escape with a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings as $187 favorites.

The following night was yet another example of how there are simply no sure things with the NHL odds in the NHL Playoffs.  The number two seed Chicago Blackhawks were prohibitive $239 home favorites against the seven seed Nashville Predators and suffered a shocking 1-4 loss that cleaned out those gambling in sports with Chicago.

It was yet another painful lesson on how it is best to look first at the underdog when evaluating the NHL Playoffs.

That same night the San Jose Sharks needed overtime to escape a 0-2 deficit against Colorado in a 6-5 win in which they made those gambling in sports with them highly agitated for laying out $270.

The Phoenix Coyotes and the Detroit Red Wings looked to be the most even series of the opening round as they split their first two games in Phoenix.  Everyone gambling in sports respects the tremendous turnaround season of Phoenix as they were bankrupt and looking to move or fold just one year ago.

They have become one of the top defensive teams in the NHL and have shown no fear against the defending Western Conference champions.
