The Sharks have had two chances to end this series as they led 3-0 but the Red Wings have come back to win two in a row in hockey betting and can now even the series with a win on Tuesday night.

NHL playoffs odds this season have had the road teams do very well and on Sunday it was the Red Wings winning on the road as underdogs in hockey betting at San Jose.  The Sharks looked to be in total control as they led 3-1 in the third period but Detroit would not quit and scored two goals to tie and then got the game winner.

Daniel Cleary and Jonathan Ericsson scored goals to get the game to 3-3 and then Tomas Holmstrom deflected the game winner by San Jose goaltender Antti Niemi.  The Sharks got goals in the game from Logan Couture, Joe Pavelski and Devin Setoguchi.  The other Detroit goal was scored by Niklas Kronwall.

Pavel Datsyuk had three assists for the Red Wings and was named the game’s number one star.  Jimmy Howard had 39 saves for Detroit in the win and Detroit head coach Mike Babcock said it was Howard’s play that saved Detroit.

For the first couple of periods and early into the third it looked like San Jose was going to end the series but Howard kept them alive and then the offense came around.

Many bettors looking at the hockey lines are going to immediately take Detroit in Game 6 but as we mentioned earlier, the road teams have more than held their own against the NHL playoffs odds this year.  And it is worth noting that the Sharks have won four of their last five road games overall and the Sharks are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Detroit.

This has turned into a high scoring series vs. the hockey lines and that may continue on Tuesday night.  San Jose has now gone over the total in 12 of their last 16 road games and the last seven Detroit home games have gone over the total. In this series, the last six meetings in Detroit have gone over the hockey betting odds.
