NHL playoffs handicappers and fans love the challenge of a game 7 as such games often come down to a hot goaltender or an unknown goal scorer who becomes a hockey playoffs hero.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will host the Tampa Bay Lightning in game 7 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinals series that is tied 3-3 in games.  The opening puck drop is scheduled for 6 PM ET and Sports Gambling will have side and total odds on the matchup so be sure to have your account open and ready for action today.

Pittsburgh entered the Eastern Conference playoffs as the 4 seed while Tampa Bay was the 5 seed and the series has turned out to be as even as the final standings of the two teams.

Pittsburgh jumped out to a 3-1 lead in this series but Tampa Bay has staved off elimination with 2 straight wins with the hockey gambling odds to force this 7th game of the series.

In game 5 the Lightning embarrassed the Penguins in Pittsburgh by a score of 8-2 as Pittsburgh showed up flat and blew a chance to clinch the series on their home ice.  Steven Stamkos had 2 goals and an assist for the Lightning and Simon Gagne and Pavel Kubina had 2 goals each.

Tampa Bay goaltender Dwayne Roloson kicked away 31 Pittsburgh shots as Tampa Bay caused a virtual fire drill by jumping out to a 7-0 lead that had the fans rushing out in mass.

In game 6 at Tampa Bay the Lightning broke a 3rd period 2-2 tie with 2 goals in the 3rd period to beat the hockey lines 4-2 and force a 7th game.  Steve Downie had the game winning goal for Tampa Bay and added 2 assists as well while Roloson stopped 27 Pittsburgh shots.

The poor performance of Pittsburgh over the last 2 games has many handicappers turned off and it also illustrates how important Sidney Crosby is to the team.

Crosby has been held out of the NHL playoffs due to a concussion injury suffered at the beginning of the year and many handicappers think that the Penguins could finally break under the strain of having to play without him.
