Minnesota was 35-27-2-5 with the hockey betting line and was 18-14-1-2 on the road.  The Wild have not been a good board value as of late however as their lack of offense is becoming a strain on their ability to win games.  Minnesota was 25th in the NHL for goal scoring while ranking 11th for goals against.

The Wild went over the total in just 15 of 35 away games.  Right winger Martin Havlat had 21 goals and 38 assists to lead Minnesota while center Mikko Koivu had 15 goals and 34 assists.  Havlat was the only player on Minnesota to clear the 20 goal plateau.  Goaltender Niklas Backstrom had a 2.39 goals against average with 21 wins and 3 shutouts.

San Jose was 39-22-4-3 overall and was 18-11-20-2 with the hockey odds as a host.  The Sharks were in the 3rd spot in the Western Conference playoff race as they ranked 14th in the NHL for goal scoring while ranking 9th for goals against.  San Jose got off to a very slow start this year but is peaking at a good time with the playoffs near.

The big challenge for the Sharks this year will be to advance in the playoffs and avoid the early round upsets that have ruined previous season for them and given them a reputation for being chokers.

San Jose has dominated their series with Minnesota overall as they have gotten the money in 15 of the last 20 meetings between the teams.  The Sharks have paid out in 7 of their last 8 NHL online betting matchups with the Wild at home and the series has gone over the total in the last 4 matchups between San Jose and Minnesota at the Shark Tank.
