The New York Rangers were in a precarious spot as they ranked 7th in the Eastern Conference playoff race with a hockey betting record of 34-29-2-2 as the Carolina Hurricanes, Buffalo Sabres, and Toronto Maple Leafs were all closing fast.  New York was in bad form recently with just 3 payouts in 8 games from February 18 through March 4.

New York’s offensive woes of the past few seasons have returned as the Broadway Blueshirts ranked 21st in the NHL for goal scoring but ranked 5th in the league for goals against, which is what has kept them in the race.  The Rangers also had injury issues as Marian Gaborik was among the players out as he was in questionable status with a concussion issue.

The Rangers were a solid road team with a mark of 20-13-1-0 and went over the total in just 9 out of 34 away games.

Anaheim was still very much in the online hockey betting playoff race despite not being in the top 8.   The Ducks looked as if they were ready to make a move for a spot as they won 3 consecutive games from February 27 through March 4.  Anaheim was ranked 13th in the NHL for goal scoring but was 21st for goals against.

The Ducks had the 4th best power play in the NHL.  Anaheim was a strong 20-10-1-1 at home and went over the total in just 13 out of 32 home games.

The Rangers have beaten the hockey odds in 6 of their last 8 games against the Ducks as the series has gone over the total in jus1 of the last 4 meetings.  The Rangers have won their last 3 visits to Anaheim.
