Nashville was a one dimensional team that ranked 27th in the NHL for goal scoring and 2nd for goals against.  Their lack of offense is what had them in jeopardy of missing the playoffs.

The Predators offensive woes extended to the power play as they ranked 27th in the NHL with the man advantage.  The leading scorer was a defenseman, Shea Weber, who had 13 goals and 26 assists.

San Jose has been one of the hottest teams on the board over the past month and had an online hockey betting record of 38-21-4-2.  The Sharks were 17-10-2-1 at home and were an even 15-15 split on totals as a host.  San Jose got the cash in 8 consecutive games from February 15 through March 3 to remain one of the most profitable teams anywhere.

The Sharks had the 3rd ranked power play and ranked 9th in the NHL for goals against.  San Jose was quickly running away with the Pacific Division.

Nashville has had their share of struggles on the road at San Jose as they have gotten the money in just 3 of their last 17 visits to the Shark Tank.  The Predators did beat the hockey odds in their last visit however with a 2-1 win on January 8.  The series has gone over the total in 4 of the last 6 meetings at San Jose.
