Hockey betting expectations are falling like a rock for the Minnesota Wild as they have not been able to keep pace as a true online hockey betting contender in the Western Conference.

The Minnesota Wild will host the Dallas Stars on Sunday night with a start time of 6 PM ET.  Be sure and open your account at Sports Gambling for the side and total odds on this important Western Conference matchup.

Dallas had a record of 22-13-1-2 with the hockey betting odds and was 10-7-0-1 on the road with 10 of their 18 road games going under the total.  The Stars were average on both ends of the ice as they ranked 15th for goal scoring and 12th for goals against.  Dallas was fading into the New Year with just 1 win in 5 games from December 23 through December 31.

The Stars were something of a surprise as the first place team in the Pacific Division ahead of perennial power contender San Jose and the improving Los Angeles Kings.  The Stars were led by center Brad Richards who had 17 goals and 25 assists.  Left winger Loui Eriksson was right behind with 16 goals and 25 assists.

Kari Lehtonen was the leading goaltender on the team with a mark of 15-14 and a 2.68 goals against average while backup Andrew Raycroft was solid with a 2.24 goals against average and a 7-3 record.

Minnesota was 17-15-1-4 with the hockey betting line and was a break even 9-9-0-2 at home.  The Wild had problems scoring goals as they ranked 25th in the NHL while the defense was keeping them in games ranking 15th for goals against.

Minnesota’s weak offense was led by defenseman Brent Burns 11 goals while right winger Cal Clutterbuck had 10 goals.  Goaltender Niklas Backstrom had a 2.58 goals against average.

Dallas has dominated this head to head hockey betting series with 16 payouts in the last 20 meetings including the last 4 consecutive with the series going over the total in the last 4 meetings.  Dallas won the only previous meeting between the teams this year 4-3 at home on December 4.  Dallas has won 3 of their last 5 visits to Minnesota.
