The Anaheim Ducks were 17-15-2-2 with the hockey odds and ranking in the bottom third of the NHL for both scoring and goals against.  Anaheim split their first 10 games of December and was struggling on the road with a mark of 6-9-2-1 while going under the total in 11 of their first 18 road games.

The Ducks were still very much in the playoff race in the Western Conference but proving to be a second tier team that really didn’t do any one thing all that well.  Right wing Corey Perry was a key asset as he led the Ducks with 16 goals and 22 assists while center Ryan Getzlaf proved to be a mainstay with 13 goals and 22 assists.

40-year old right wing veteran Teemu Selanne remains a scoring threat with 10 goals and 18 assists and right winger Bobby Ryan had 14 goals and 13 assists.  Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky was an impressive set up man with 23 assists.  Number one goaltender Jonas Hiller had a 2.66 goals against average and a break even record of 15-15 with 1 shutout.

Boston had a NHL wagering record of 17-10-1-3 while going over the total in just 8 of their first 31 games.  The Bruins ranked 12th in the NHL for scoring and were the best ranked defensive team in the NHL.  Boston was 8-5-1-2 at home and went over the total in just 4 of their first 16 home games.

Number one goaltender Tim Thomas was a key hockey betting asset with a phenomenal 1.64 goals against average and a record of 15-6 with 5 shutouts.  Left wing Milan Lucic led the Bruins with 16 goals and 11 assists while right winger Nathan Horton had 11 goals and 12 assists.  The big concern for the Bruins was a lack of scoring depth.
