Hockey bet expectations have fallen like a rock for the Avalanche as their playoff run of last year looks more and more to have been a bet hockey fluke.

Hockey bet expectations continue to rise on the other hand for the San Jose Sharks as they have been one of the hottest teams on the bet hockey board over the past month.

The surging San Jose Sharks will host the collapsing Colorado Avalanche with a starting time of 10:30 PM ET Tuesday night.  Sports Gambling will have side and total odds on this matchup so be sure and open your account today.

San Jose has made a remarkably quick climb up the Western Conference playoff race charts and won 8 out of 10 games between February 8 and February 25 with 6 consecutive wins at the tail end of that stretch.

During that 10 game run the Sharks went over the total just 2 times.  The Sharks were 15-10-2-1 with the hockey gambling odds at home and went over the total in 15 of their 28 games as a host.  San Jose ranked 15th for goal scoring and 10th for goals against.

Colorado has been absolutely horrible as of late with just 1 payout with the hockey lines in 10 games from February 7 through February 26.  The big reason for the implosion has been defense as the Avalanche ranked 30th in the NHL for goals against while ranking an impressive 8th for goal scoring.

It has been a dramatic turn of events for the Avalanche as they surprised everyone by making the playoffs with the spark of team most valuable player Craig Anderson in goal.  Anderson was traded to Ottawa and he has seen his career take a shark downturn after he rejected a 200% raise from the Avalanche over the summer.

Ottawa sent goaltender Brian Elliott to Colorado as Elliot will be charged with saving the season.

Colorado has had very little success at San Jose with just 4 payouts in their last 18 visits including just1 win in their last 8 games as a visitor against the Sharks with 3 consecutive losses in the most recent games.  The Avalanche and Sharks have gone under the hockey bet total in 9 of their last 11 matchups at San Jose including the last 2 meetings at the Shark Tank.
