Hockey wagering has been about break even on both teams but the Flyers have considerably more NHL wagering credibility with the public. The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a major addition to their front office that they expect will eventually lead to a change in their hockey wagering fortunes.
Brian Burke was hired last month to run the show after a successful stint at Anaheim in which the Ducks were one of the best teams on the hockey wagering board. Burke has been charged with the task of getting Toronto back into hockey wagering prominence and also back into being posted on the NHL wagering playoff board someday soon.
Burke’s task will not be easy, however, as many hockey wagering experts have been dismayed at the way in which the Toronto Maple Leafs have been run over the past few seasons. It is feared that it may take several hockey wagering seasons to get this franchise up and running to where everyone wants it to be.
Toronto does have some hockey wagering, assets, however, starting with its 9th ranked offense. Nik Antropov led the Maple Leafs in scoring with 30 points. Toronto’s NHL wagering liability has been their 28th ranked defense.
From December 23 through January 1 the Leafs hockey wagering woes continued as they got the cash in just 1 out of 5 games as their offense virtually disappeared. Overall Toronto had a record of 15-17-2-4 straight up and 19-18 against the hockey lines.
The Philadelphia Flyers have impressed the hockey wagering community with their first place performance in the Atlantic division. Philadelphia had an overall mark of 21-10-4-3 straight up and a break even 19-19 against the hockey lines. The Flyers were a strong home team with a mark of 12-4-2-1.
Philadelphia was also a strong hockey wagering “over” team at home as they had a record of 14-5 over the total on home ice. Philadelphia’s main asset was their 4th ranked offense.
