Chicago (3-3-3) will try to make the hockey betting playoffs this year for only the second time since the 1996-97 season. Wednesday night, Dallas (4-4-2) scored a 4-2 NHL wagering win against the Minnesota Wild at home.
The Blackhawks last game was against the Wild as well, an away game on Monday in which Chicago was on the wrong side of a 3-2 score.
Lately, Dallas has been a friend to those who gamble on NHL games to go ‘over’ the ‘total’ with its last three games going ‘over’ the closing hockey lines largely thanks to the Stars’ offensive outburst of 14 goals during that span.
The Stars got off to a quick start Wednesday with Brendan Morrow scoring for Stars gamblers just 13 seconds into the game.
Long-time goaltender Marty Turco has struggled mightily for the Stars in his nine games between the pipes, but despite his league-high 4.26 GAA and second to last .842 save percentage, has a 3-4-2 record as the starting net minder.
On Wednesday night though, Turco’s struggles opened the way for Tobias Stephan who was good enough in the win, stopping 19-of-21 shots to give the Stars the 4-2 sports betting victory. Fourth year Blackhawk C Patrick Sharp is leading the team in scoring with 12 points with six goals and six assists.
Right wings Patrick Kane and Martin Havlat have also contributed to the Blackhawk offense with nine points apiece. Blackhawks bettors have seen their offense contribute to the ‘over’ going 3-1-1 against the closing hockey odds in their last five games.
Chicago has been a totally different team at home than they have been away from the United Center, going 3-0-2 at home compared to just 0-3-1 away from home. The main reason for this is that the Blackhawks are allowing 2.4 goals per game at home and 3.75 goals per game on the road.
Goaltenders Cristobal Huet and Nikolai Khabibulin have been adequate this year combining for a 2.61 GAA and .909 save percentage through nine games.
Sportsbettors all agree that the best place to bet this game and the rest of the 2008-09 NHL season is Sports-Gambling.com Sportsbook.
