Hockey betting fans have had a lot more success this season betting Carolina than Atlanta. Hockey bet gamblers have seen the Carolina Hurricanes go back to their old strong form and the Hurricanes have attracted hockey bet attention along the way so far this hockey betting season.
The hockey lines will have Carolina as the favorite in this tilt as the first place Hurricanes host the last place Thrashers, who have been about as bad of a hockey bet as you could make so far in the hockey betting campaign.
Center Eric Staal has been the catalyst of the Carolina offense and one of the reasons a hockey bet on the Hurricanes has been a wise decision so far. Successful hockey betting always relies on making a hockey bet on a team with strong goaltending and Carolina’s Ca Ward and Michael Leighton have provided that service against the hockey lines.
Ward and Leighton have goals against average under 2.5 and both have save percentages well above .920 making for a hockey bet in which you are confident that you have a chance with. Carolina has struggled mightily with the power play ranking 29th in the NHL and ranks overall average on offense.
The reason that making a hockey bet on Atlanta has not been a good idea is because the Thrashers rank 24th on offense and 29th on defense and are well below the league averages in both categories.
So far this hockey betting season Atlanta has shown little to nothing as far as potential to win a hockey bet and there could be a lot of empty seats at Phillips Arena if the Thrashers don’t start to come out of their sloppy funk.
Atlanta goaltender Kari Lehtonen has been a major disappointment so far in the season and why a hockey bet on Atlanta has been the equivalent of lighting a match to a hockey bet bankroll.
Keep in mind, however, that the hockey lines are adjusted to meet the expectations of a hockey bet of the typical member of the gambling pubic and Atlanta will likely be offered at a bargain price.
