Betting NHL skepticism is high for the San Jose Sharks as they have always come up short in the playoffs although this year they have shown more success and NHL online betting grit than in the past.

The San Jose Sharks will host the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday in game 4 of their best of seven Western Conference Finals series.  The game will be telecast on NBC with a 3 PM ET start and Sports Gambling will have side and total odds on the matchup so be sure to open your account today.

The Sharks defeated the Los Angeles Kings and Detroit Red Wings in the first two rounds of the playoffs with the hockey gambling odds.  A big recent problem for San Jose has been goaltender Antti Niemi who had a 2.38 goals against average in the regular season that has ballooned to a 3.30 goals against average in the playoffs.

Niemi was the goaltender of last year’s Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the Sharks are counting on that experience to help them reach the Finals.

The Canucks defeated the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators with the hockey lines in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

They have had their share of goaltending issues as well as Roberto Luongo has settled down after a rough start in the opening round in which he found himself  benched as the Canucks blew a 3-2 series lead against Chicago before rallying to win game 7.

Luongo lowered his playoff goals against average to 2.28 and posted 2 shutouts.  Luongo was the Canadian Olympic goaltender last year that sparked Team Canada to a Gold Medal win over the United States.

Vancouver has had the better of this head to head series as of late with 7 payouts in the last 11 matchups between the teams as the series went over the total in 6 of the last 8 matchups.

In San Jose however the Sharks have had their best success against the Canucks as they have won 6 of their last 8 with Vancouver as a host with 6 of the last 9 games between the teams in San Jose going over the betting NHL total.
