Bet on Hockey on Senators vs. Lightning at Sports Gambling

Bet on hockey with improving Ottawa or fading Tampa Bay in an eastern conference NHL wagering matchup.

Bet on hockey value has increased on the Ottawa Senators who have been a good NHL wagering commodity the past month running.  For those who bet on hockey, it wasn’t all that long ago that the Ottawa Senators were an elite NHL wagering team and a Stanley Cup Finalist.

Those days have long since gone, however, and Ottawa got off to a terrible start to this season, burning those who bet on hockey with them.

Ottawa finally picked up the pace during the season’s second half, and although it is too late to make a post season run for 2009 it will possibly set them up well for next season as far as their overall confidence and playing habits.

Ottawa had an overall bet on hockey mark of 30-30-5-5 straight up and 35-35 against the hockey lines.

The Senators have been in their best stretch of the year to bet on hockey with them as from March 5 through March 19 they got the cash in 7 out of 8 games and posted impressive bet on hockey wins over Montreal, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Edmonton during that run.

From February 19 through March 19 the Senators were also one of the best teams to bet on hockey totals with as they went over the number in 11 out of 14 games.  The goaltending tandem of Alex Auld and Brian Elliot has been a major reason for Ottawa’s recent NHL wagering success.

Auld had a save percentage of .908 and a goals against average of 2.56.  Elliott had a .905 save percentage and a 2.70 goals against average.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been a better value than you might expect to bet on hockey with as they had an overall straight up record of just 23-33-6-9 but were 36-35 against the hockey lines.

Because of their lack of appeal with those who bet on hockey the Lightning often get large plus-prices to entice action their way.  A great bet on hockey example of this would be their 8-6 win at Calgary as +$290 dogs!
