Super Bowl Odds - NFC Teams Look Even

Super Bowl odds may have the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings as the 2009 Super Bowl betting favorites but there is a lot of parity and chances for others.

Super Bowl odds will also have the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals as legitimate Super Bowl betting threats. The New Orleans Saints enter the playoffs as the Super Bowl odds favorite and top seed of the NFC.

New Orleans started off 13-0 and became a prohibitive Super Bowl betting favorite in the process but lost their last 3 games to cool off a lot of Super Bowl gambling handicappers.

The Saints were just 8-8 against the spread and, even worse, enter action with the Super Bowl odds having lost 5 consecutive games against the spread including 8 out of their last 10.  The Minnesota Vikings are the number two seed with the Super Bowl odds and had the highest scoring team in the NFL this season.

Quarterback Brett Favre had one of his greatest seasons ever and finished with a 107.0 quarterback rating.  Minnesota went just 2-3 straight up and against the spread down the stretch but will not have to play a game outdoors in the playoffs which helps their chances with the Super Bowl odds.

The Dallas Cowboys make for a good dark horse team with the Super Bowl odds as they closed strong to overtake the Philadelphia Eagles and win the NFC East Division.  Dallas has the top defense in the NFC as well as momentum.

The Cowboys won and covered their last 3 games beginning with a win at New Orleans to spoil the Saints undefeated season.  The Philadelphia Eagles looked like a solid favorite with the Super Bowl odds and had a 6 game straight up winning streak snapped in their season finale at Dallas which they lost in poor fashion 0-24.

The Eagles defense ranked 19th in points allowed which is a cause for concern.  The Arizona Cardinals are a legitimate threat with the Super Bowl odds as the defending NFC champions.  Arizona won the NFC West with a record of 10-6 straight up and 9-7 against the spread.

The Green Bay Packers had a strong finish to end up at 11-5 straight up and 11-4-1 against the spread.  Green Bay won 7 out of its final 8 games while going undefeated against the spread in that span.
