Super Bowl gambling now has 12 teams in the AFC that have legitimate shots at the 6 playoff spots that will be open for action with the Super Bowl lines. Pittsburgh, in fact, is one of 6 Super Bowl gambling contenders in the AFC with a 7-7 record.
The Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers were the only division champions assured of playoff shots with the Super Bowl lines. The New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, and Denver Broncos were the other top 4 teams with shots at the NFL Super Bowl odds.
The other 7-7 teams were the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, and Houston Texans. The AFC was heading into the Super Bowl gambling stretch run of the regular season with the closest race in its history.
After the undefeated Indianapolis Colts and the 11-3 San Diego Chargers the AFC Super Bowl gambling race would look to be wide open. Cincinnati led the AFC North and was a Super Bowl gambling long shot entering the season.
The Bengals have made dramatic improvement on both sides of the line and have shown well against last year’s AFC finalists Pittsburgh and Baltimore. The Baltimore Ravens were one of the Super Bowl gambling favorites right behind Pittsburgh heading into the season.
Their defense remains one of the best in Super Bowl gambling and the Ravens looked impressive in their last two games as they dominated Detroit and Chicago. New England is always a Super Bowl gambling favorite but the Patriots have been inconsistent this year.
They would be a dangerous playoff team, however, with plenty of post season experience. As for the Steelers they will need to win out and get help but their dramatic last second win over Green Bay showed that they won’t depart the scene without a fight!
And if Pittsburgh somehow gets into the playoffs they will be known as a team NOBODY wants to play.
