Sports Gambling - The Shanahan Plan

Sports gambling intrigue has reached a climax at Washington as Mike Shanahan prepares the franchise for a new online sports gambling era under his direction.

Sports gambling frustration reached a boiling point last year as the Redskins continued to be one of the worst online sports gambling values on the board.

Shanahan arrives at Washington with much fan fare after a highly successful run at Denver where he won two Super Bowls and had the Broncos in regular playoff contention.

There is nowhere to go but up after a 4-12 season and Shanahan is definitely the man with the plan beginning with his no-nonsense approach towards Albert Haynesworth, who was not allowed to practice because he failed a conditioning test.

Shanahan hired his son Kyle to run the passing game for the Redskins and before anyone makes the charge of nepotism they should look to see that the Houston Texans ranked number one in passing last year with Kyle in charge.  New quarterback Donovan McNabb arrives from Philadelphia to run the new offense and is excited.

“It’s an opportunity for me to learn something new,” said McNabb.  “There’s a reason why (Texan QB Matt) Schaub threw for 4700 yards last year.”

Shanahan was known for always having a strong ground game during his time at Denver and that is expected to carry over to the nation’s capital this year.  Running back Clinton Portis is motivated for the 2010 season after being written off by many in football betting for being in decline.

“Everybody wrote me off,” said Portis.  “Everybody felt like I was over and done with.  I’m back, I’m healthy, and I’m looking forward to helping this team.”

Shanahan also believes that Larry Johnson can be an asset with the NFL preseason odds.

“I like what I saw in film last year and is one of the reasons why he is here.”

To make the running game go Shanahan must get improved line play.

“It’s our job to get them coordinated, and hopefully we can put a better product on the field,” said the coach.

As for Haynesworth, he quickly earned a room in the “Chateau Bow Wow” for skipping spring workouts as he was unhappy about defensive coordinator Jim Haslett’s 3-4 scheme for the 2010 sports gambling season.

Haynesworth overplayed his hand as a pro bowler and Shanahan brought the hammer to let everyone know who’s in charge at Redskin Park.
