Sports Gambling - Packers Belong to Rodgers Now

Sports gambling handicappers are quite upbeat about the Packers chances with the 2010 online sports gambling season after they went 11-5 straight up in 2009.

Sports gambling fans were thrilled with Green Bay’s 11 covers with the online sports gambling spread last year as they made the NFC playoffs as a wild card team.

A big reason for the Packers success was quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who had a phenomenal pro bowl campaign in which he passed for 4434 yards and 30 touchdowns with just 7 interceptions and a quarterback rating of 103.2.

Rodgers is now accepted by Green Bay’s passionate fans as the Packers quarterback, which took some time after the Packers let legendary gun slinger Brett Favre go during training camp in 2008.  The ugly split with Favre put added pressure on Rodgers as he was taking over a team that made the NFC Championship Game with Favre in 2007.

But Rodgers cool demeanor has always been a trademark since he arrived from California as a number one draft pick in 2005.

But beneath the calm exterior is a fiery and competitive interior based on a career in which Rodgers has often been written off.  He has made it the hard way through work and determination, having to overcome obstacles at each step of his path towards his current status as the Packers Pro Bowl quarterback.

He is also the key football betting asset that makes Green Bay a bona fide contender.

“I’ve dealt with adversity.  I’ve dealt with disappointment,” said Rodgers.  I’ve dealt with not being picked and not being one of the guys.  When I see adversity now, I look forward to it.  When I see opportunity, I make the most of it.”

The Packers are one of the big favorites with the NFL preseason odds to make the Super Bowl in February.

Rodgers has been a refreshing change in many ways for the Packers as he made it a point to hang out with teammates while Favre had his own private locker room.  He often invites teammates over to hang out and play music.

Rodgers has passed for over 4000 yards in both of his seasons as the starting quarterback.  He had a rough 2008 sports gambling season as the team finished 6-10 but the Packers showed marked improvement and increased confidence in Rodgers for 2009.

Rodgers won a lot of respect from everyone for how he handled himself when Favre returned to camp for 3 days in 2008 as his professionalism calmed the stormy climate of Favre and his eventual divorce from Green Bay.
