Sportsbook Gambling on Cardinals at Broncos

Sportsbook preseason action continues with an inter-conference matchup of two struggling teams against the NFL odds as Denver hosts Arizona.

Sportsbook handicappers will have their choice of two teams that are winless straight up in the preseason with one final shot at an exhibition win against the NFL odds. The defending NFC champion Arizona Cardinals, have a sportsbook record of 0-3 both straight up and against the NFL odds.

Last week the Cardinals lost at home to the Green Bay Packers 37-44 as 3.5-point favorites as the game soared over the total of 41.  Arizona has gone under the sportsbook total in 2 out of their 3 exhibition games.

The Cardinals were looking at sportsbook humiliation against the Packers last week as they trailed 10-38 at the half but they were better in the second half as quarterback Matt Leinart finally awakened with a strong performance as he went 24-38 for 360 yards with 3 touchdowns.

Leinart had disappointed sportsbook handicappers in the first 2 exhibitions, which was emblematic of his career. He should see plenty of action against the Broncos.  Arizona starter Kurt Warner has looked terrible in the preseason but rates the benefit of the doubt after last year’s championship sportsbook performance.

Warner has a 56.8 quarterback rating.  A bright spot of the offense has been running back Tim Hightower, who has 104 yards on 21 carries.  The Cardinals defense has long been their sportsbook weakness and was the ultimate reason for their super bowl loss in the final seconds to Pittsburgh last year.

So far the results are similar to the past as Arizona ranks 31st in preseason points allowed and 21st in total yards allowed.  Arizona is a dreadful -8 in turnover ratio for the preseason.  The Denver Broncos are 0-3 straight up and 1-2 against the sportsbook boards.

Last week they suffered 17-27 home loss to their ex-quarterback Jay Culter and his Chicago Bears as 2.5-point chalks.  It has been a tumultuous pre season in the Mile High City as new coach Josh McDaniels has lost much of the fan base after his rift with Cutler and the recent suspension of Bandon Marshall, not to mention a winless preseason.
