Pro football betting expectations are equally low for the Carolina Panthers after yet another poor NFL sports betting performance that kept them winless on the season.

FOX will telecast the Carolina Panthers hosting the San Francisco 49ers with a kickoff at 1 PM Eastern.  San Francisco opened at Sports-Gambling as a 3 point favorite with an over/under of 34.5.

The San Francisco 49ers have a NFL betting record of 1-5 straight up and 2-4 against the spread.  San Francisco is coming off a 17-9 home win over the Oakland Raiders but remains in last place in the weak NFC West after being picked to win the division in the preseason.

The ground attack continues to be a surprising and disappointing weakness for San Francisco as they rank 28th in the NFL for rushing yards.  The defense has been equally as bad and ranks 24th for points allowed.

The big question is how long Mike Singletary will remain as head coach.  Quarterback Alex Smith has been inconsistent but also hasn’t had a lot of help.

The Carolina Panthers have a NFL gambling record of 0-5 straight up and 1-4 against the spread.  Matt Moore will be back at starting quarterback after losing his job in week 3 to Jimmy Clausen.

Both signal callers have been ineffective for coach Jim Fox, whose defense ranks 20th for points allowed.  The Panthers are coming off a bye that followed a horrible 23-6 home loss to Chicago.

Singletary and Fox are both on the hottest seats in the NFL and are under tremendous pressure for turnarounds that do not look likely.  The loser of this game could be unemployed on Monday.

San Francisco has covered 7 out of their last 8 pro football betting matchups when coming off a failure to cover the spread.  Carolina has covered 7 out of their last 10 as a dog.  The 49ers have gone under the total in 6 out of their last 8 NFC games while Carolina has gone under the total in 36 out of their last 51 home games.

Carolina has paid out in 13 out of their last 16 against San Francisco with 5 consecutive covers at home versus the 49ers.  The series has gone over the total 11 out of the last 13 matchups.
