Odds NFL Preseason Rivalry Games

Odds NFL handicappers have one aspect of the preseason that offers appeal and extra intangibles against the NFL odds with intra city and or intra state rivalry games.

Odds NFL fans can expect a slightly higher level of preseason action against the NFL odds when rivals meet in exhibition games as the crowds are bigger and more intense.  A great example of a preseason odds NFL matchup between intra state rivals would be the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles.

This all Pennsylvania affair was a near miss for the Super Bowl NFL odds as the Eagles lost the NFC championship game at Arizona last year, blowing a huge opportunity to meet the Steelers for all of the marbles.

Another great rivalry matchup on the odds NFL board in preseason is the Gotham Bowl between the New York Jets and New York Giants.

The Jets often bring their best game against the Giants and the odds NFL as they are something of the “little brother” in New York as Big Blue has had the majority of success with Super Bowl titles in recent years while the Jets last title was in 1968.

The Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams battle for the bragging rights of Missouri each year against the odds NFL and with the entire state choosing up sides it makes for quite a preseason rivalry game.  Both teams are coming off horrible seasons and have new coaches that want to establish momentum against the odds NFL.

The San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders meet in the Battle of the Bay each year in preseason odds NFL action.  The 49ers look to be an up and coming team while the Raiders are trying to rebuild and may have a quarterback battle on their hands this preseason.

The Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys will meet in the Lone Star Rivalry game against the odds NFL.  Houston is much like the New York Jets in this series which makes them play with extra effort and attitude.

This year the Texans are primed for their first post season berth while Dallas wants to rebound after a horrible collapse at the end of last year.
