NFL gambling expectations continue to grow for Tennessee while Pittsburgh proved that they are still a dangerous football gambling commodity despite not having Ben Roethlisberger.

Tennessee opened at Sports-Gambling as a 5.5–point favorite with an over/under of 38.  Kickoff is at 1:05 PM Eastern.

The Steelers are coming off a 15-9 overtime win with the NFL odds last week over the Atlanta Falcons as 1-point home dogs as the game went under the total.  It was an especially important win as the Steelers had to start 3rd string quarterback Dennis Dixon against a team favored to make the NFC playoffs.

Dixon will start again this week after a solid debut in which he was 18-26 for 236 yards.  Rashard Mendenhall ran for 120 yards including a 50 yard game winner in overtime.  The Pittsburgh defense, and particularly the line, was the true star of the game as they held an explosive Atlanta offense in check.

The unit will face a tough test this week against the Titans running back Chris Johnson, who had 142 yards and 2 touchdowns last week after running for over 2000 yards last year.

Tennessee scored an easy NFL bet win over the Oakland Raiders last week 38-13 as 6.5-point home favorites as the game soared over the total of 39.5.  The Titans continue their momentum that was built last year when Vince Young took over at quarterback.

“That’s momentum just carrying onto this year, and hopefully it can carry on throughout this year,” said Johnson.

Tennessee has covered 9 out of their last 15 NFL gambling matchups with Pittsburgh including 4 out of the last 6.  The Steelers have covered just 5 out of their last 15 road games against the Titans.  10 out of the last 14 matchups between the teams have gone over the total including 4 straight overs at Tennessee.

Pittsburgh has gotten the money in just 3 out of their last 10 road games with 7 of those games going over the total.  The Steelers are 14 out of their last 20 as dogs with 6 consecutive payouts.  Tennessee has covered just 4 out of their last 13 games as a favorite with 7 out of their last 10 games as a chalk going over the total.
