NFL gambling frustration was over the top for the Dallas Cowboys as they blundered their way to a football gambling loss on opening day with their offense still in preseason form.

The Bears will meet the Cowboys in Dallas on Sunday.  The Dallas Cowboys opened at Sports-Gambling as an 8.5-point favorite with an over/under of 41.  Kickoff is at 1:05 PM Eastern Time.

The Dallas Cowboys lost a disappointing 13-7 decision with the NFL odds against the Washington Redskins as 3.5-point road favorite as the game went under the total.  Dallas scored what appeared to be a tying touchdown at the gun to send the game into overtime but was called for holding to end the game in defeat.

That was after they ended the first half of play with a horrendous offensive call that resulted in a fumble that was returned for a touchdown by the Redskins.  Instead of taking a knee the Cowboys ran a screen pass and the game was never the same afterwards.

“That was my fault right before the half.  We should have taken a knee,” said coach Wade Phillips.  Dallas’ preseason woes have now continued into the regular season with an offense that doesn’t finish drives.  A total of 12 penalties hurt as well.

The Chicago Bears scored a highly controversial 19-14 home win over the Detroit Lions but did not win the NFL bet as 6.5-point favorites as the game stayed under the total.  Detroit scored what looked to be a winning touchdown pass that was overturned on an obscure rule that saved the Bears and may prove to be of long term benefit.

The Bears defense was solid but the running game must pick it up a notch to keep the heat off of quarterback Jay Cutler.

Dallas has covered the spread in 5 out of their last 7 NFL gambling matchups with Chicago with 7 out of the last 9 matchups going under the total.  The Cowboys have paid out 3 straight times over the Bears at home.

Chicago has gone 3-10 against the spread in road action and has gotten the money in just 2 out of their last 13 games as a dog with 8 of their last 9 games as a pup going under the total.  Dallas has paid out in 10 out of their last 14 home games and has gone under the total in 6 out of their last 8 games as a favorite.
