NFL football gambling fans have seen San Diego and Seattle split their first 2 games while sending out mixed messages to gamblers betting on NFL football with them.

The Seattle Seahawks will host the San Diego Chargers on Sunday with kickoff set for 4:20 PM Eastern and a telecast on CBS.  Sports-Gambling opened with San Diego as a 5.5-point favorite and a total of 44.

After suffering an upset loss at Kansas City in their Monday Night season opener the San Diego Chargers were all business last week in a 38-13 home win over Jacksonville as 7-point chalks with the NFL lines as the game soared over the total.

Last week’s payout was a total and complete team effort as the defense forced 6 turnovers whole quarterback Philip Rivers passed for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns.  One point of concern for San Diego was rookie running back Ryan Mathews, who had to leave the game in the 2nd quarter due to an ankle sprain.

While x-rays were negative and he was cleared to return head coach Norv Turner didn’t want to take any chances in the blowout win and kept Mathews on the bench.  The Chargers rank 3rd for total offense and 9th for total defense.

The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a bad 31-14 loss at Denver as 3.5-point road dogs with the NFL gambling odds.  Seattle is yet to go under the total in their 2 games.  Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck threw 3 interceptions and the defense was lit up for 369 total yards including 307 in the air against Denver quarterback Kyle Orton.

The veteran now has a 3/4 TD/INT ratio.

San Diego re-established their credentials as AFC West favorites last week but cannot afford a letdown this week while Seattle head coach Pete Carroll will try to get back his team’s positive groove.

San Diego has covered the spread in just 3 out of their last 11 NFL football gambling matchups with Seattle with 4 consecutive failures.  The two teams have gone over the total in 6 out of their last 8 matchups.

The Chargers have paid out in 5 out of their last 7 road games while the Seahawks have gone 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games at home with just 2 of those games going over the total.
