NFL football gambling fans will be looking for the Jacksonville Jaguars to rebound with a strong NFL betting effort after their tough loss last week at Indianapolis.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Washington Redskins in an interconference matchup that will be telecast on FOX with a starting time of 1 PM ET.  Sports-Gambling opened with Jacksonville as a6.5 point favorite and with a total of 45.

Jacksonville needs this game to keep pace with Indianapolis for first place in the AFC South Division race as a wild card slot is not likely to be available in the top heavy AFC.

Washington has a record of 5-9 straight up and 6-6-2 with the football betting lines as 8 of their games have gone under the total.  The Redskins are coming off a 33-30 loss at Dallas in which they did get the money as 9.5 point road dogs.  Coach Mike Shanahan in involved in a heated controversy with benched quarterback Donovan McNabb and one if not both of them may be gone after the season.

Res Grossman started in place of McNabb last week and was effective.  Shanahan brought in McNabb during the offseason but soured on his work habits and mediocre performance although McNabb’s supporters would contend that Washington does not have much of a supporting cast.  Washington has lost 6 of their last 7 games including their last 4 and has gone under the total in 4 of their last 5 games.

The Skins are tied for last with Dallas in the NFC East and rank dead last for total defense and 25th for offensive scoring.

Jacksonville has a record of 8-6 straight up and 9-5 with the NFL betting odds as 11 of their games have gone over the total.  The Jags lost at Indianapolis 34-24 last week to slip into a tie in the AFC South.  Jacksonville’s defense continues to be a problem as it is ranked 28th for points allowed while the offense ranks 15th in scoring.

Washington has gotten the money in 3 of their last 4 NFL football gambling matchups against Jacksonville as the series has a 2-2 over under split on totals.
