NFL football gambling expectations remain high for the New York Giants despite a recent slump in which they have lost betting on NFL football value.
The New York Giants will host the Washington Redskins in the renewal of an intense and historic rivalry series in the NFC East Division. Kickoff is set for 1 PM ET with a telecast on FOX. Sports-Gambling opened with the Giants as a 7 point favorite and with a total of 44.
The Washington Redskins have a record of 5-6 straight up and 5-5-1 with the NFL lines. Washington has gone under in 6 games this year. The Redskins are coming off a 17-13 home loss to the Minnesota Vikings as they have gone 1-3 both straight up and against the spread in their last 4 games.
The Redskins have gone under the total in 2 straight games and are 2 games behind Philadelphia and the Giants in the NFC East. Donovan McNabb has been less than stellar at quarterback as he has a weak 76.0 rating down from last year’s strong 92.9. Washington’s defense has been bad and ranks near the bottom of the NFL.
The New York Giants snapped a 2 game losing streak last week with a 24-20 home win over Jacksonville although they failed to get the cash for the 3rd straight week as an 8 point favorite. The Giants are tied with Philadelphia for first place in the NFC East with a record of 7-4 straight up and 5-6 with the NFL gambling odds.
New York has gone over the total 7 times so far in 2010 including 5 of their last 6 games. The Giants have made a huge improvement over last year on defense with first year coordinator Perry Fewell as they rank 2nd overall in the NFL.
The offense also has been solid and ranks 6th in scoring although Eli Manning has had his share of inconsistent play and interceptions at the quarterback position. Ahmad Bradshaw has stabilized the attack with 916 yards rushing.
The Giants have far more firepower than the Redskins and a much better defense. About the only NFL football gambling hope Washington has is a lack of focus by Big Blue.
