NFL football gambling excitement is high for the San Diego Chargers as they are on one of their patented second half of the betting on NFL football season playoff runs.

The San Diego Chargers will host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday with kickoff scheduled for 4:10 PM and a telecast on CBS.  The Chargers opened at Sports-Gambling as 13 point favorites with an over/under of 46.5.

The Oakland Raiders have fallen to a record of 5-6 straight up and 6-5 with the NFL lines as 7 of their games have gone over the total.  Oakland is in 3rd place in the AFC West 2 games behind Kansas City.  The Raiders have lost both of their games since the bye week and are coming off a bad 33-17 home loss to Miami last week.

Quarterback continues to be a problem for the Raiders as neither Jason Campbell nor last week’s starter Bruce Gradkowski has been able to sustain consistent success.  Oakland ranks 27th in the NFL for passing while ranking 13th in total defense.

The San Diego Chargers have a record of 6-5 both straight up and against the spread with just 4 of their games going under the NFL gambling odds total.  The Chargers have ripped off 4 consecutive payouts and are now just 1 game behind Kansas City in the AFC West.

Last week the Chargers scored their most impressive win of the season as they dominated the Colts at Indianapolis 36-14 on Sunday Night Football.  San Diego is excellent on both sides of the line as they rank number one in the NFL for both total offense and total defense.

Quarterback Philip Rivers has passed for 3363 yards and Antonio Gates has 709 yards receiving.  The Chargers will be seeking revenge for a 35-27 loss at Oakland on October 10.

Oakland has not proven capable of settling on an effective quarterback while the Chargers are hitting their full stride after a typically slow start.  San Diego has momentum, confidence, and should be focused for an Oakland team that has proven capable of beating them.

While San Diego is playing better they must continue their NFL football gambling success as a wild card spot is not likely and the AFC West title is likely the only path to the post season.
