NFL football gambling problems are also mounting for the Seattle Seahawks as they are having trouble retaining their betting on NFL football value.
The Seattle Seahawks host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday with a scheduled kickoff set for 4:20 PM ET. Sports-Gambling opened with Seattle as a 6 point favorite with a total of 40. The game will be telecast on FOX.
The Carolina Panthers have a record of 1-10 straight up and 3-8 with the NFL lines as 6 of their games have gone under the total. Carolina is dead last in the NFC South and is coming off their 5th consecutive loss last week as they were edged by Cleveland 24-23 but got the money as 9 point road dogs.
As expected Carolina ranks near the bottom of the NFL for both offense and defense. The Panthers rank dead last for offensive scoring and dead last for passing. Rookie Jimmy Clausen is struggling with his on the job training but has had little support.
Running back DeAngelo Williams is on the injured list which has put more of a burden on Clausen.
The Seattle Seahawks have a record of 5-6 both straight up and with the NFL gambling odds. Seattle has gone under the total just 3 times. Seattle is tied for first place in the embarrassing NFC West with St. Louis. The Seahawks rank dead last in the NFL for rushing and 27th overall for offensive scoring.
The Seattle defense has been even worse as it ranks 30th overall in the NFL. The Seahawks have dropped 4 of their last 5 games and have gone over the total in 4 consecutive weeks. Quarterback has been a big weakness on the Seahawks as starter Matt Hasselbeck has a lackluster 78.9 rating and a 10/9 TD/INT ratio.
Fortunately for Seattle they are in the NFC West or they wouldn’t have any hope of gaining a NFL football gambling post season bid. This matchup against Carolina is definitely in the “must win” category as it’s a matchup against a horrible team in which a loss cannot be afforded with St. Louis back in the race.
