NFL football gambling expectations are always high for the New England Patriots as they are again one of the top betting on NFL football choices to win the AFC.

The New England Patriots will host the New York Jets on ESPN Monday Night Football with a scheduled kickoff set for 8:40 PM ET.  Sports-Gambling opened with New England as a 3.5 point favorite and with a total of 47.

This is a first place showdown in the AFC East with plenty of playoff implications on the line including seedings and home field advantage.  The Jets scored a 28-14 home payout over New England in the first meeting between the teams this year.

The New York Jets are coming off a 26-10 Thanksgiving Night payout over Cincinnati as 10 point home chalks to improve their record to 9-2 straight up and 7-4 with the NFL lines as 8 of their games have gone over the total.  The Jets have won 4 consecutive games heading into this matchup.

As expected the Jets have one of the top defenses in the NFL and rank 3rd overall and 4th for points against.  The offense has leaped into significant improvement to rank 11th for scoring.

Second year quarterback Mark Sanchez has an 81.7 QB rating but a much improved 16/8 TD/INT ratio.  Veteran San Diego discard LaDainian Tomlinson has 733 yards rushing while Braylon Edwards is averaging 17.7 yards per catch.

The New England Patriots have a record of 9-2 straight up and 6-4-1 with the NFL gambling odds.  New England has gone over the total in 9 games this year.  The Patriots are riding a 3 game winning streak and are coming off a 45-24 Thanksgiving Day win at Detroit.

It has not always gone smooth for New England as they rank 31st overall for defense in the NFL and 21st for points against.  Tom Brady leads the NFL’s top scoring offense with a 105.8 QB rating and 23/4 TD/INT ratio for a truly phenomenal season.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis has 627 yards rushing but a big play breakaway receiver is yet to emerge and that, along with the defense, continues to be the big NFL football gambling concern about the Pats long term playoff viability.
