NFL football gambling handicappers are concerned about the recent poor play of the Indianapolis Colts as they have suffered a steep drop in betting on NFL football value.
The Indianapolis Colts will host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday with a telecast on FOX set for a 4:20 PM ET kickoff. Sports-Gambling opened with Indianapolis as a 5.5 point favorite with a total of 48.
The Dallas Cowboys have paid out in all 3 of their games since Jason Garrett took over as coach although they are coming off a painful 30-27 Thanksgiving Day home loss to New Orleans in which they blew a late lead.
The loss snapped a 2 game straight up winning streak and Dallas now has a record of 3-8 straight up and 4-7 with the NFL lines. Dallas has gone over the total in 9 of 11 games. The Dallas defense was again unable to hold a lead in the loss to the Saints and ranks an abysmal 30th in the NFL for points allowed.
The offense has had solid production since Garrett took over as backup Jon Kitna has improved to an 88.3 QB rating with a 10/8 TD/INT ratio. Dallas has continued to struggle on the ground and ranks 27th in the NFL for rushing.
The Indianapolis Colts have lost 2 consecutive games and 3 of their last 4 as they were embarrassed on Sunday Night Football last week in a 36-14 home loss to San Diego. The Colts are now 6-5 straight up and 6-4-1 with the NFL gambling odds. Indianapolis has gone under the total in just 4 of 11 games.
The Colts are tied with Jacksonville for first place in the AFC South. Peyton Manning has hit a slump and that is one of the main reasons for the 2 game losing streak. Manning has seen his QB rating fall to 90.6 and he now has a 22/11 TD/INT ratio which is substandard for him.
The Colts defense has been an even bigger culprit as it ranks 18th for points allowed and 30th against the rush. The Colts 30th ranked ground game also puts more NFL football gambling pressure on Manning who is beginning to wear down from having to carry so much of the burden himself.
