NFL Football Gambling - Colts at Raiders

NFL football gambling fans were reminded last week that it is always a mistake to write off the Colts and Peyton Manning as NFL betting contenders.

NFL football gambling handicappers will have serious concerns this week however as the Colts have a tough assignment against a dangerous NFL betting commodity at Oakland.

The Oakland Raiders will host the Indianapolis Colts in an AFC matchup that will be telecast on CBS with a start time of 4:05 PM ET.  Sports-Gambling opened with Indianapolis as a 3 point favorite and with a total of 47.

The Colts are in a first place tie with Jacksonville in the AFC South Division and will need a win to keep pace as there are not likely to be any wild card spots available in the tough AFC.

Indianapolis has a record of 8-6 straight up and 7-6-1 with the football betting lines and has gone under the total in just 4 games.  The Colts scored a home payout over Jacksonville last week 34-24 to gain their 2nd win in a row after a 3 game losing streak.

Peyton Manning has returned to form at QB after a rough stretch during those losses as the burden of having to carry the team at times appeared to be overwhelming.

The Colts defense has slipped to rank 22nd for points allowed while the offense ranks best in passing but last in rushing which illustrates the need for Manning to be in top form at all times.  The 4-time NFL MVP has passed for 4257 yards on the season so far.

Oakland has a record of 7-7 straight up and 8-6 with the NFL betting odds as 9 of their games have gone over the total.  The Raiders are coming off a 39-23 home payout over Denver for their 2nd win in 3 games and still have an outside mathematical shot at the AFC West Division title.  Oakland has shown marked improvement and ranks 9th for total offense and 11th for total defense.

The Raiders have gotten the money in 5 of their last 6 NFL football gambling matchups against the Colts and the series has gone under the total in the last 3 meetings between the teams.  Oakland has paid out in their last 3 home games against the Colts with 2 of those 3 games going under the total.
