NFL football gambling surprises are also coming from the Denver Broncos but not in the way their fans would want as they are a major betting on NFL football disappointment.

The Denver Broncos will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday with a CBS telecast set to kickoff at 4:05 PM ET.  Sports-Gambling opened with the game as a pick’em.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a NFL betting record of 5-3 straight up and against the spread with and even 4-4 split on over/unders.  The Chiefs are coming off a tough 23-20 overtime loss at Oakland in which the imploded late in the 4th quarter after seeming to have the game won.

Kansas City is winning with the combination of a top ranked running game and an improved defense that ranks 8th for points allowed.  Jamaal Charles has 719 yards rushing with a phenomenal 6.4 yards per carry average.

Quarterback Matt Cassel continues to show improvement with an 89.2 QB rating and a 12/4 touchdown/interception ratio.  Kansas City ranks 22nd on defense against the pass and that weakness was exposed by Oakland last week as they hit two big late pass plays to steal the game.

The Denver Broncos have a NFL gambling record of 2-6 both straight up and against the spread with 6 of their games going over the total.  Denver is coming off a bye week that followed a 24-16 loss at San Francisco as they have lost 4 consecutive games both straight up and against the spread.

Denver’s offense is the mirror opposite of Kansas City’s as they rank 3rd in the NFL for passing and dead last for rushing while the defense ranks 27th for points allowed.  Quarterback Kyle Orton has a 92.7 QB rating and a 12/5 TD/INT ratio with almost 8 yards per attempt.

Brandon Lloyd has proven to be a dangerous threat at receiver as he is averaging 20.1 yards per catch with 4 touchdowns.

The Chiefs have paid out in 7 of their last 10 road games while the Broncos have lost 24 of their last 33 home games against the spread.  The Broncos and Chiefs have gone over the NFL football gambling total in 5 of their last 6 matchups.
