NFL football gambling results have been mixed for the Buffalo Bills as they collapsed last week with the odds NFL after getting the money against top teams.
The Buffalo Bills will host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday with a kickoff time set for 1 PM ET and a telecast on CBS. Sports Gambling opened with Buffalo as a 1 point favorite and with a total of 41.
Cleveland has a NFL gambling record of 5-7 both straight up and against the spread with 8 of their 12 games going over the total. The Browns have won 4 of their last 6 games, including 2 straight, and are coming off a 13-10 win and payout at Miami. Jake Delhomme has returned as starting quarterback and led the last 2 wins.
Peyton Hillis has been the key to the offense with 962 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns. Cleveland’s defense has shown steady improvement and ranks 12th for points allowed. The offense has not kept pace and ranks a weak 26th for scoring.
Buffalo has a record of just 2-10 straight up but a better than expected 6-5-1 with the NFL betting lines as they have been a better than expected board value as odds makers “sweeten the pot” and enhance the price in order to attract betting action towards the Bills.
Buffalo is an even 6-6 split on over/unders this year. The Bills are coming off a 38-14 loss at Minnesota which snapped a 3 game payout streak. Buffalo has shown ability against top teams as they took Pittsburgh to overtime before losing on a field goal 19-16.
They also scored payouts in overtime losses to top playoff contenders Baltimore and Kansas City. Coach Chan Gailey deserves credit for the Bills playing hard with nothing on the line. Buffalo’s defense ranks 29th for points allowed while the offense ranks 22nd for scoring. Ryan Fitzpatrick has done a credible job at QB with 2384 yards passing.
While Cleveland continues to exceed NFL football gambling expectations they can undue all of that good will with a bad performance in this one. The Browns can’t take Buffalo lightly as the Bills have proven capable of beating the best teams in the league.
