NFL betting odds were beaten by Seattle last week in the wild card round and the upstart Seahawks will be looking for more on Sunday with the NFL betting lines.
FOX Sports will telecast the NFC Divisional Playoff game of the Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears with a start time of 1 PM ET. Sports Gambling opened with Chicago as a 10 point favorite and with a total of 41.
Seattle may have been the object of ridicule and jokes for winning the NFC West Division with a losing record but nobody is laughing now after their 41-36 home payout over the New Orleans Saints as a 9.5 point dog in the wild card round of the playoffs. Matt Hasselbeck returned to action for Seattle and threw for 272 yards and 4 touchdowns while Marshawn Lynch ran for 131 yards and 1 TD.
Seattle had a regular season record of 7-9 straight up and 7-9 with the football betting odds as just 4 of their games went under the total. Seattle covered just 2 of 8 road games this year with 6 of those games going over the total. The Seahawks ranked 28th for overall offense and 27th for overall defense.
Chicago had a first round bye last week as the champions of the NFC North Division with a record of 11-5 straight up and 9-6-1 with the football betting lines while going under the total 9 times. The Bears are one of the better defensive teams in the NFL as they ranked 9th overall and an even better 4th for points allowed.
The offense struggled however and ranked 30th overall and 21st for scoring. Jay Cutler did show some improvement under first year offensive coordinator Mike Martz and cut down on mistakes as the season went on while throwing for 3274 yards. Matt Forte had 1069 yards rushing. Linebacker Brian Urlacher, who led the team in tackles, is confident and says that only the Bears can beat the Bears.
While Chicago may be a big favorite with the divisional playoff odds in this matchup it must be noted that Seattle scored a 23-20 upset win at Soldier Field on October 17 as 6 point dogs.
